Couture hat trick powers Sharks past Avalanche

Sergei Bobrovsky made 36 saves and Boone Jenner and Matt Duchene scored the goals as the Columbus Blue Jackets held off the Boston Bruins 2-1 at Nationwide Arena to take a two games to one lead in the series. Bobrovsky continues to frustrate the Bruins, who have only scored six times on the Russian netminder. Jake DeBrusk scored the only goal for Boston to halve the deficit with 40 seconds left in the second period.

Logan Couture scored three times as the visiting San Jose Sharks doubled up the Colorado Avalanche by a 4-2 count. Timo Meier notched the other Sharks goal and drew a helper and Martin Jones made 25 as San Jose took a two games to one lead in the series, Nathan MacKinnon and Matt Nieto scored for Colorado.
