NHL Postseason Caterwaul: Dadonov scores twice in Russia’s win over Norway

Florida Panthers forward Evgenii Dadonov opened the scoring and later added Russia’s fourth goal in a 5-2 win over Norway at the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia. Artem Anisimov, Nikita Kucherov and  Nikita Gusev also scored for Russia, which built a five-goal lead before Thomas Valkvae Olsen and Jonas Holos tallied for Norway in the third. Dadonov logged 12:13 of ice time, registered three shots on goal and finished with an even rating.

Juho Lammikko logged 15:28 of ice time, won 11 of 23 faceoffs and finished with an even rating in Finland’s 3-1 win over Canada. Kaapo Kakko scored twice and Arttu Ilomaki added the other goal for Finland. Jonathan Marchessault notched the only goal for Canada.

Spare forward Frank Vatrano only played 1:54 and registered one shot on goal in the United States 4-1 loss to tournament host Slovakia. Matus Sukel, Erik Cernak, Tomas Tatar and Michal Kristof scored for Slovakia. Alex Brincat scored the USA’s only goal off assists from Patrick Kane and Jack Eichel to tie the game in the first period.
