NHL Postseason Caterwaul: Bruins and Maple Leafs will go seven

Brad Marchand scored two goals as the Boston Bruins forced a seventh game with a 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at ScotiaBank Arena. Tuukka Rask stopped 22 shots and Torey Krug and Jake DeBrusk notched the other Boston goals. Morgan Rielly opened the scoring and Auston Matthews cut the deficit down to one in the third period with his fifth of the series before Marchand clinched it with an empty-netter.

Tomas Hertl became the first player in NHL history to score a shorthanded goal past the first overtime to give the visiting San Jose Sharks a 2-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights to send the series to a decisive seventh game. Hertl beat Mark-Andre Fleury with a snap shot 11:17 into the second overtime period. Martin Jones made a franchise record 58 saves and Logan Couture scored the other San Jose goal. Former Florida Panthers forward Jonathan Marchessault came up with the only goal for the Golden Knights. Marchessault has scored in three straight games.

Panthers Prospects

Serron Noel registered one shot on goal and finished with a -2 rating in the Oshawa Generals 5-1 loss on home ice to the Ottawa 67s. The Generals now trail three games to none in the OHL Eastern Conference final.

Owen Tippett and the Saginaw Spirit will visit the Guelph Storm for Game 3 of the Western Conference final at 7 p.m.. The Spirit lead the series two games to zero.
