NHL Postseason Caterwaul: Duchene gives Blue Jackets 3-2 double overtime win over Bruins

Matt Duchene’s power-play goal gave the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets a 3-2 double overtime win over the Boston Bruins, tying the second round series at one game apiece. Artemi Panarin scored twice and set up Duchene’s game-winner, which came 3:42 into the second overtime with Patrice Bergeron off for hooking Seth Jones. Jones had two assists as did Cam Atkinson. Matt Grzelcyk and David Pastrnak scored for Boston. Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves, out-dueling Tuukka Rask, who finished with 38 stops.

Roope Hintz scored the game-opening goal, notched the clinching empty-netter and added an assist in the Dallas Stars 4-2 road win over the St. Louis Blues that evened the series at one game apiece. Miro Heiskanen and Mattias Janmark also scored for Dallas and Mats Zuccarello had two assists. Colton Parayko and Jaden Schwartz lit the lamp for the Blues. Ben Bishop stopped 32 shots to pick up the win while rookie Jordan Binnington finished with 31 saves.

Aleksi Heponiemi and Karpat defeated HPK 4-2 in Game 4 of the Liiga final in Finland to even the series at two games apiece. Heponiemi logged 13:49 of ice time and finished the game with a -1 rating.

Owen Tippett and the Saginaw Spirit will the visit the Guelph Storm at 2 p.m. this afternoon for Game 6 of the OHL Western Conference final. The Spirit lead the series three games to two. A win puts Saginaw in the championship round against the Ottawa 67s.
