No Points for Trocheck or Grimaldi In USA Rout

Florida Panthers prospects Vincent Trocheck and Rocco Grimaldi played but did not figure in the scoring during Team USA’s 7-0 quarterfinal victory over the Czech Republic on Wednesday at the World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia.

Grimaldi returned after being stuck on the bench the previous game to join the Trocheck line along with Tyler Biggs.

Trocheck finished the game with one shot on goal, a +1 plus rating and won 9/20 draws. He was also called for two penalties.

Grimadli had two shots on goal, won 2/6 draws and finished with an even rating.

John Gaudreau scored three goals to power the US to the easy win. Riley Barber added two goals and defensemen Jacob Trouba and Seth Jones (pictured) each had four assists.

Goaltender John Gibson turned aside 31 shots to post the shutout.

The Americans scored five power play goals and continued to excel killing penalties.

Team USA will meet Canada in the semifinals.
