Wednesday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum
From the Don't Steal My Sunshine collection, volume XIV: the Florida Panthers have two regulation losses in eleven games played since March 8, the first to Philadelphia (5-0) and second to Carolina (3-1) last week. The Flyers eventually took their medicine in a stunning 2-1 Cats non-OT victory some ten days after the initial defeat, while one match remains against the Hurricanes (April 7 in Sunrise, and untelevised).

Why last night rocked:
- BUF (86P/5GR) over WSH (84P/5GR), 5-1: despite an even-strength goal, soon-to-be UFA Alex Semin rides off with a minus-3 as Sabres win 5th straight. Last defeat? In a shootout on March 17 to Florida/
Why last night jonesed:
- NJ (92P/5GR) over CHI, 2-1 (SO): the shootout giveth, and the shootout taketh away as Devils remaineth 3 points up on Cats
- BOS (93P/6GR) over TB 5-2: A reach, yes, but not unreasonable/
Panthers Playoff Update:
- FLA defeated MTL 3-2 (SO); playoff odds up 2.5 to 98.7% per Sports Club Stats /
Why tonight is a Big Deal in SoFla:
- Honestly? None of this evening's six games - and only one in the East (Rags/Jets) - are required viewing, but NBC-SN will be showing Wings/Jackets, two of Florida's next three opponents, at 7:30. Otherwise paint the garage. Learn a new language. Fix that clogged jet in the Jacuzzi./
Next up for the Cats:
- Tomorrow from St. Paul; the LBC Game Thread gets underway at 7:30./
Did you know:
- F Wojtek Wolski's regulation marker against Montreal Tuesday was his 4th as a Panther, and only the fourth time in 16 games he surpassed 2 shots on goal (had 3 vs Habs)
Tuesday’s Organizational News:
- Last night's scratches: F Krys Barch, John Madden, Mike Santorelli, D Keaton Ellerby
- Signed only two days ago, long-awaited & newly-minted pro Drew Shore, a center, could see time with the Rampage tonight vs Hamilton in San Antonio.
