Tuesday Caterwaul: Panthers GameDay Open Forum

In the 12-year history of the Southeast, there have been five seasons where only the division winner made the playoffs. While it’s impossible to tell if that will be the case this season, the bottom half of the Eastern Conference standings are tight enough that a team can’t rely on receiving help from other teams.

Why last night rocked:

Why last night jonesed:

  • TOR over EDM, 6-3; Leafs now 6-1-1 over last eight, Kessel 2nd overall with 29 goals; face the Jets in Winnipeg this evening/

Panthers Playoff Update:

Why tonight is a Big Deal in SoFla, beyond the obvious:

  • NJ at NYR, 7 p.m.
  • NYI at PHI, 7
  • PIT at MTL, 7:30
  • STL at OTW, 7:30
  • LA at TB, 7:30 (NBCSP)
  • TOR at WPG, 8:30/

Next up for the Cats:

Did you know:

  • C Nicklas Backstrom – traditionally a PantherSlayer with 29 points (13 on the PP) in 28 career games vs FLA – will miss his 15th match since early January as concussion symptoms keep him on the shelf indefinitely.
