Tuesday Caterwaul: Panthers Open Forum

Panthers winger Matt Bradley has, um, “capitalized” on increased ice time tossed his way during a difficult stretch of injuries throughout the Florida roster, collecting 1 goal and 2 assists over the past five contests (2-2-1). Despite a minus-two, the feisty forward has 20 hits in that span.

Why last night rocked:

  • NYR over PHI, 3-2 (REG); depending upon your loyalties, of course, the final score was a good thing/bad thing for FLA, though it’s awfully hard to argue against the “regulation” aspect/

Why last night jonesed:

  • OTW over NJ, 3-2 (OT); forgetting we wanted both of these clubs to magically finish without a point, Jersey blew a 2-goal lead as the Sens and Daniel Alfredsson dragged it to an evil extra frame. Bang: 3 points awarded./

Why tonight is a Big Deal in SoFla:

  • CGY at WSH, 7 p.m.; Good news: Flames are 11-2-2 against the Caps. Bad news: that record ran from November, 1974 through December of ’77.
  • TB at TOR, 7; after having the four-game table run against them a year ago, the Leafs took this season’s only meeting so far, 7-1. At the Bay.
  • NYI at CAR, 7; Canes are 5-1 at home vs the Isles since 2008-09.
  • EDM at BUF, 7; Sabres victorious in last 2 at Buffalo against the Oil./

Next up for the Cats:

Thursday vs NYR. LBC Game Thread at 6:30.

Did you know:

FLA is 4-2 in games immediately following January 1st since the NHL lockout of 2004-05.

This just in:

Center Mark Cullen has been returned to AHL San Antonio, making room for…Samuelsson? Goc?
