Panthers preseason game one: Hurricanes host Cats, 7pm

We're not going to be holding traditional live open-threads until the regular season begins (it's a heckuva lot easier with television, for brutally obvious reasons) so for Panthers' exhibition matches we'll be joining George Richards at On Frozen Pond, who will be hosting a live chat with commentary from the game.

It's a fantastic way to interract with other Florida fans who may not yet have stumbled upon our glorious existential growing community, so please feel free to hang and get the word out.

It's going to be a gaggle of rookies from both clubs hitting the ice; a mighty big moment for the likes of Erik Gudbranson, Quinton Howden, and Carolina's Jeff Skinner - all first round selections in June's Entry Draft. Expect Scott Clemmensen and Jacob Markstrom to split time in Florida's net, while Rostislav Olesz seeks to continue building on a recently-revealed mean streak (paging Dr. Weiss...line one). Looking particularly forward to Michael Grabner's potential contributions this evening, now that he is on a club with more than enough room for his talents.

Hope you'll stop by for the hijinks and cheese sticks.
