Panthers select Miguel Fidler with No. 143 selection in 2014 NHL Entry Draft

Panthers take a flyer for the second straight round, picking Miguel Fidler with their fifth round selection.

After going with a product of the USNTDP last round, the Panthers stay in the US and select Miguel Fidler from Minnesota state champion Edina High School. Fidler has offensive pop in his game, and is commited to play in the NCAA, with Ohio State. It will be interesting to see how his game develops, as he really stepped up this season for Edina after just being a role player for them in the past.
