The Florida Panthers have signed forward Jesper Boqvist to two-year contract extension worth $3 million.
So far this season, Boqvist has suited up in 59 of Florida’s 60 games and produced 12 goals and 22 points. The 12 goals is a new career-high. He is one point away for matching his career-best of 23, set with the New Jersey Devils during the 2021-22 campaign.
Boqvist was originally selected by New Jersey in the second round (36th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
After not receiving a qualifying offer from his prior team, the Boston Bruins, the 26-year-old signed a one-year, $775,000 deal with the Panthers on July 1, 2024.
Another piece of tight work by general manager Bill Zito as we head into the trade deadline.
