The Florida Panthers will face the Los Angeles Kings in Quebec City tonight to finish the 2024 preseason slate. Despite icing a less talented roster in their last outing, the Cats came away with a 2-1 overtime win over the Tampa Bay Lightning when Sandis Vilmanis scored 15 seconds into the extra session, making the Cats 4-3 in this year’s exhibitions.
On Thursday, the Panthers waived forwards Zac Dalpe and Rasmus Asplund and defensemen Tobias Björnfot and Jayson Megna. All four players cleared Friday afternoon and will join the Charlotte Checkers. The Cats also assigned forwards Josh Davies and Kai Schwindt, defenseman Mikulas Hovorka and goaltender Cooper Black to the Checkers. On Friday, forward Will Lockwood was placed on waivers, reducing the training camp roster to 29 players.
