Saturday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The Florida Panthers (1-2-2) will finish off the preseason tonight at 7:30 p.m. with a neutral site game versus the New Jersey Devils (3-4) at Tate Arena in West Point, NY.

The two teams will meet again on Thursday in Sunrise to open the 2016-17 regular season.

Sometime following tonight’s game and Tuesday, the Cats will need to make two more cuts. It will very interesting to see who wins those final spots and makes the initial 23-man roster for opening night.

In another piece of organizational news, the Springfield Thunderbirds won its first preseason game last night, beating the Providence Bruins 2-1 in overtime. (Recap)

Rihards Bukarts and Michael Downing (GWG) scored the goals and Sam Brittain made 30 saves.

LBC will have a full-blown Gamethread tonight (starting at 7) since Fox Sports Florida is being kind enough to broadcast the tilt on TV.
