Saturday Recap: Florida Panthers at the IIHF World Championship, Day Nine

Nick Bjugstad and Marcel Goc are winners in today's action at the Worlds.

Florida Panthers center Nick Bjugstad (pictured) registered two shots on goal, went 4/10 on faceoffs and finished with a -1 rating while logging 10:40 minutes of ice time in the United States 4-2 victory over France today in Helsinki. The win keeps the US on track to finish at the top of the Group H standings if they win their final two preliminary round matches against Germany and Slovakia. Stephen Gionta, Bobby Butler, Paul Stastny and David Moss scored for the Americans. Ben Bishop stopped 15 shots to pick up the win in goal. Kevin Hecquefeulle and Yorick Treille netted the goals for France. Bjugstad was on the ice for Trielle's goal which completed the scoring with 1:30 left in the game.

Marcel Goc fired four shots on goal and finished with an even rating in Germany's 2-0 victory over Latvia today in Helsinki. Goc logged 16:38 minutes of ice time, went 5/17 on draws and was called for slashing in the first period. Christoph Ullmann and Patrick Hager notched the goals while Rob Zepp made 26 stops to post the shutout for Germany.

Jacob Markstrom backed up Jhonas Enroth today in Sweden's 2-0 win over Slovenia in Stockholm. Gabriel Landeskog and Fredrik Pettersson scored the goals. Enroth made 21 saves to post the shutout.
