Seattle Kraken roster ready to surface

The Seattle Kraken’s 30-man expansion draft roster will be revealed tonight at 8 p.m. in a star-studded event that will be broadcast by new partner ESPN on ESPN2.

Sue Bird of the WNBA Storm, current linebacker Bobby Wagner and former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis, and former Seattle SuperSonics stars Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp, and Sounders FC forward Jordan Morris will be among those on hand to help announce the picks, with most of the Seattle sports luminaries appearing at Gas Works Park, where, in addition to team brass, plenty of Kraken fans will be on hand to celebrate with the likes of Macklemore, and hopefully, a few of the newly-selected players. Other famous local sites like the Space Needle, Seattle Aquarium, Mount Rainier and the Pike Place Market will feature in the festivies

According to Sportsnet Insider Elliotte Freidman, Florida Panthers goaltender Chris Driedger will indeed be heading to the Pacific Northwest.

What remains to be seen is if Driedger will sign the contract during the expansion draft process to become the pick from Florida, or will the deal be shelved until July 28 so Seattle can select another Panther, Oh, the intrigue…

The league-wide trade and waiver freeze and player signing moratorium will be lifted tomorrow at 1 p.m. and the NHL’s now 32 teams will resume business as usual with the first round of the 2021 Entry Draft coming up fast on Friday night. Florida holds the 24th overall pick in Round One.
