Sportsnet: Florida Panthers planning season without a new GM
Current Asst. GM Randy Sexton: How about adding an "interim" to the title? Or removing the "Asst."?
Very little to go on so far, but here's the bit we do have (and on the surface it ain't pleasant):
Sportsnet has learned that the Florida Panthers are not expected to name a new general manager this season. The day-to-day hockey operations will continue to be handled by assistant general manager Randy Sexton.
Looks like Sexton's the man for the immediate future. I supported his being named GM since the draft, but never imagined this process would still be rolling on the eve of training camps.
Another situation where the potential sale of the club is preventing a full-timer to be named? This is getting downright funky.
