Sunday Caterwaul: Stanley Cup / Florida Panthers Open Forum

Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov and Devante Smith-Pelly scored the goals and Braden Holtby made 21 saves as the Washington Capitals beat the Vegas Golden Knights 3-1 at Capital One Center to take a two games to one lead in the series.

Tomas Nosek tallied the only goal for Vegas, halving the deficit early in the third period before Smith-Pelly beat Marc-Andre Fleury with 6:07 left in the game.

Game 4 is Monday night in Washington.

Please be advised that the Florida Panthers Summer Reading Tour will begin on Wednesday, June 6 with Panthers Goaltender Roberto Luongo as the first guest reader. The tour will begin at North Lauderdale Saraniero Library from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In conjunction with Broward County Libraries and Broward Public Library Foundation, the Florida Panthers first inaugural reading tour will visit 11 area libraries from June-August.

The South Florida community is encouraged to visit local libraries and enjoy a variety of titles read by Panthers guests, alumni and personalities.

2018 Calder Cup

Trevor Moore scored the go-ahead goal with 9:57 left in the third period and the Toronto Marlies held on for a 6-5 victory over the visiting Texas Stars to open the 2018 Calder Cup Final on Saturday afternoon. Former Panthers farmhand Mike McKenna surrendered all six goals and took the loss for Texas. (More)
