Stillman, Olesz lead Panthers over Lightning 5-2

Cory Stillman and Rostislav Olesz each scored two goals, Bryan Allen captured the game-winner, and Keith Ballard collected three assists as Florida rolled over Tampa Bay in Sunrise.

Didn’t plan on that tonight, did ya?

All the recent Olesz talk has me a bit wigged; can the Cats plan on similar efforts from the enigmatic (to say the least) winger from here on out? Granted, he’s only got 13 goals on the season, but five have come in the past four games. That’s work.

Tomas Vokoun stopped 47 shots. Just another night with teh Panthers.

Antero Niittymaki got the hook after allowing five goals on 18 Florida shots; backup Dustin Tokarski – in his first NHL appearance – stopped 5 of 5.

Alex Tanguay – scoring his 200th career goal – and Andrei Meszaros beat Vokoun early, but the Tampa offense simply couldn’t crack the Cats defense thereafter.

Michael Frolik led Florida with 5 SOG, while Dennis Seidenberg was tops in TOI with 22:34 (followed by Nathan Horton with 22:12).

Up next: Atlanta on Monday.
