New Cats, new numbers. The Florida Panthers have announced the numbers its free agent signings will be sporting during the 2024-25 season. Florida returnee Chris Driedger reclaims #60, Nate Schmidt will stick with his familiar #88, Adam Boqvist will wear #34, his brother Jesper #70, MacKenzie Entwistle takes #44, Jayson Megna #8, A.J. Greer #10 and Tomas Nosek will be the second Panther (Kyle Rau was the first) to wear #92.
Team USA dismantled Germany 12-3 to advance to the semifinals at 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton by finishing in second place in Group B. The loss sent the Germans to the fifth place game against Slovakia, who took out Switzerland 3-2 in overtime. In other games, Canada edged Sweden 2-1 to win Group A and Czechia knocked off Finland by a 4-1 count to finish first in Group B with a perfect 3-0 record.
