Panthers' Kopecky And Skille Collect Assists In Action From Europe
Florida's Tomas Kopecky picked up his third point in a shootout win while Jack Skille collected his first in a losing effort.
Tomas Kopecky (pictured above in action from last season) assisted on Dukla Trencin's second goal in a 3-2 shootout win over HC Kosice in Sunday action from Slovakia's Extraliga.Tomas Klima got Trencin on the board first, scoring at the 7:45 mark of the opening period with assists going to Jakub Gasparovic and Ondrej Broska. In the second period, Tomas Marcinko tied the game for HC Kosice beating Dukla Trencin keeper Adam Nagy midway through the stanza. Kopecky would pick up the second assist on Rotislav Marosz's goal just 25 seconds later as Trencin regained a one goal advantage. Robert Huna would even things up again, scoring at 8:37 of the third period, much to the delight of the home crowd in Kosice. After a scoreless overtime the game would go to the shootout where Radoslav Tybor scored the winner in the fourth round. Nagy stopped all four Kosice shooters after making 34 saves during the rest of the contest.The assist gives Kopecky three points (1G/2A) in two games for Dukla Trencin.
Jack Skille picked up his first point, had five shots on goal and finished with a +1 rating in Rosenborg IHK Elite's 3-2 overtime loss on the road to Tonsberg IH in Sunday action from Norway's Get-ligaen. Skille also got called for charging and received an additional ten minute misconduct penalty for abusing the officials early in the first period. Tonsberg jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening period on even strength goals from Ross Ring-Jarvi and David Hallstrom. Rosenborg cut the deficit to one when Rasmus Juell scored with the assists going to Skille and Vegard Spets at the 19:00 mark. Rosenborg would even the game in the second period on a Lou Dickenson tally which was set up by Thomas Wiig and Fredrik Ralm. The game went to overtime after a scoreless third period where Tonsberg's Andreus Liljedal provided the deciding goal at the 3:50 mark. Simon Nordh made 30 saves in the losing effort while Rasmus Knutsen Stenebraten stopped 33 shots for the winners. The result of the game left the teams tied at the bottom of Get-ligaen table.
