Tuesday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Offseason Open Forum

So much for the North Division starting late… Tyler Toffoli scored 1:39 into overtime off a set up from rookie Cole Caufield, and the Montreal Canadiens swept the Winnipeg Jets with a 3-2 win in Game 4 at Bell Centre.

Carey Price stopped 14 shots, Erik Gustafsson and Artturi Lehkonen scored first period goals, and Nick Suzuki had two assists for the Florida Panthers Atlantic Division rival, who became the first team to advance to the NHL semifinals.

Logan Stanley scored both of Winnipeg’s goals, and Cohnor Hellebucyk finished the game with 39 saves on 42 shots.

The New York Islanders got goals from five different and staved off a third period comeback attempt to post a 5-4 road win over the Boston Bruins at TD Garden to take a three games to two lead in the series.

Mathew Barzal, Josh Bailey, and Jordan Eberle each produced a goal and an assist, and Anthony Beauvillier collected two helpers for the Islanders.

David Pastrnak scored twice for the Bruins, who pulled Tuukka Rask after the second period. Jeremy Swayman gave up the eventual game-winning goal to Nelson 1:59 into the third period.
