Florida Panthers prospect Kirill Gerasimyuk made his second start of the season and stopped 34 shots in SKA Neva St. Petersburg’s 2-1 overtime victory over HC Izhstal in action from Russia’s VHL. He is now 2-0 with a 1.46 GAA and .959 save percentage. Gerasimyuk was selected by the Cats in the fifth round of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

Matvei Shuravin played on the first defense pairing and went scoreless in Krasnaya Armiya’s 3-2 comeback win over SKA-Yunior in MHL action. The 18-year-old Shuravin was chosen in the third round (97th overall) of the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He has two assists and is +5 in four games this season.

The Seattle Kraken signed defenseman Adam Larsson to a four-year, $21 million contract extension. His new deal will kick in at the start of the 2025-26 season. Larsson produced four goals and 18 points in 81 games for the Kraken last season.

Restricted fee agent forward Juuso Parssinen signed a one-year contract worth $775K with the Nashville Predators. Parssinen appeared in 44 games with the Predators last season, scoring eight goals and four assists.

Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is off blood-thinning medication and has resumed contact training in preparation for the upcoming season. A blood clot suffered in Game 1 of Vancouver’s second round playoff series against Edmonton worsened, causing Boeser to miss Game 7.

Forward Jake Wise will attend training camp with the Los Angeles Kings on a PTO. Wise produced 20 points in 38 AHL games with the Charlotte Checkers last season before he was traded to the Chicago Wolves. He attended development camp and training camp with the Panthers in 2023.

The PWHL announced nicknames and logos for its six franchises. Say hell to the Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres.

Sticking with uniforms, yesterday we got our first look at the Utah Hockey Club’s white road sweater. Best thing about Utah’s inaugural sweaters are the shoulder patch.
