Florida Panthers ink defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok to an entry-level contract

The Florida Panthers have come to terms with defenseman Vladislav Kolyachonok on a three-year, entry-level contract.

Florida selected Kolyachonok in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

Kolyachonok, 18, appeared in 53 games with the Flint Firebirds of the Ontario Hockey League, producing 29 points (4G/25A) and appeared in one game for the London Knights (OHL). He was named to the 2018-19 OHL All-Rookie Team.

On the international stage, the 6-foot-1, 189-pound native of Minsk, Belarus, captained his country’s team at the 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship, registering five points (1G/4A) in five games.

Kolyachonok is the first Belarus-born player to be selected in the NHL Draft by the Panthers in franchise history.
