As one would expect, Sergei Bobrovsky will get the nod in Game 3 tomorrow after being yanked in the second period of Game 2.
Bobrovsky has allowed eight goals on 46 shots in the first two games against the Vegas Golden Knights. And with the team looking pretty lousy defensively Florida will need the veteran to reach the level he was at against Toronto and Carolina to have any chance of getting back in the series.
Ivan Provorov goes from Philadelphia to Columbus via Los Angeles
Some big off-ice news occurred yesterday with the Philadelphia Flyers trading away defenseman Ivan Provorov as part of a three-team trade that included the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Los Angeles Kings.
Philadelphia traded Provorov and forward Hayden Hodgson to Los Angeles in exchange for goaltender Cal Petersen, defenseman Sean Walker, defenseman Helge Grans and the Kings’ 2024 second-round pick.
Columbus acquired former Panthers defenseman Kevin Connauton from Philadelphia in exchange for a 2023 first-round pick (22nd overall) and a conditional second-round pick in either the 2024 or 2025 NHL Draft. Columbus then picked up Provorov from Los Angeles in exchange for Connauton.

Firebirds and Bears will clash for Calder Cup
The Conference Finals in the AHL playoffs are complete. The Coachella Valley Firebirds will meet the Hershey Bears for the Calder Cup with Game 1 taking place tomorrow night at Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms, California. Interesting match-up as the Firebirds are in their first year of existence while the Bears are longest continuously operating member club of the league still playing in its original city. Hershey was the team who knocked the Charlotte Checkers out of the playoffs.
