World Junior Championship: Panthers Prospects Preliminary Round Stats Recap
Crouse, Montembeault, Lammikko off to the quarterfinals; Malgin to relegation round
The 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship has wrapped up preliminary round play in Helsinki. Quarterfinal play is set to begin on Saturday. Let's take a look at the stats for the four Florida Panthers prospects taking part in the tournament.
Lawson Crouse
Crouse played in all four of Canada's (2-2) round-robin games and scored one goal and added two assists for three points. The power forward registered a total of ten shots on goal, finished with a +1 rating and took one penalty.
Samuel Montembeault
Montembeault backed up Mason McDonald in Canada's first two games, but did not dress for the last two once MacKenzie Blackwood returned from suspension.
Juho Lammikko
Lammikko appeared in all of Finland's (3-1) games, but did not pick up any points. The Kingston Frontenac has compiled a +2 rating and took one minor penalty while registering just two shots on goal.
Denis Malgin
Malgin played in all four of Switzerland's (0-3-1) games. The diminutive forward tied for the team scoring lead with three points, all assists. Malgin took three minor penalties, finished with a -2 rating and took eight shots on goal. Switzerland will play a best of three set with Belarus with the loser getting relegated.
