Gameday 17: Florida Panthers at Anaheim Ducks

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

The Florida Panthers (10-5-1) remain in southern California to face the Anaheim Ducks (9-7-0) at Honda Center to conclude a three-game road trip to the left coast. After starting the trip with a 5-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks, the Cats came up short last night in a tough 2-1 defeat to the Los Angeles Kings. The 30-save effort from veteran keeper Cam Talbot brought Florida’s five-game winning streak to a halt. Sam Reinhart, who is now tied for the league lead in goals, was the only Panther able to dent the twine in the loss. Anthony Stolarz will get the start against his former team tonight.

The Ducks come into this game off an 8-2 pummeling at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche that ended a modest two-game winning streak. Despite the loss, Anaheim is off to a surprising start that has the club currently sitting in place in the Pacific Division. Former Panther Frank Vatrano leads the Ducks in goals (11) and points (16).
