The Florida Panthers (12-7-1) will be looking to get back in the win column when they take on the middling Ottawa Senators (8-8-0) tonight in Kanata, Ontario to open a three-game Canadian road trip that spans four nights. After beginning a three-game stint at home with a 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers, Florida’s offense dried up in back-to-back losses to the Boston Bruins (3-1) and Winnipeg Jets (3-0). The Panthers hadn’t been shut out at home since February 24, 2021 before Connor Hellebuyck and the Jets blanked them on Friday.
The Senators had won three in a row to climb back above the .500 mark for the first time since late October before they were beaten 5-3 by the New York Islanders on Friday. Ottawa is 3-2 on its current six-game homestand, so they be highly motivated to end it with a win. Tim Stutzle leads the team with 17 assists and 22 points. Brady Tkachuk has scored ten goals.
