Following a recently-announced buyout of BankAtlantic, banking giant BB&T will push forward in a removing all reminders of the former’s presence at the Florida Panthers‘ Broward County facility.
In essence: adios BankAtlantic Center, hola some variation of BB&T Center/Arena/Garden/Coliseum (the final wording of which will likely be heavily focus-grouped).
This news affects none of the on-ice product, but still…”The BAC” was catchy, with a degree of local warmth which I’ll miss. Just can’t get into the cutesy stuff: “The Bank” or “The Vault” seem woefully pale.
No timetable for the rebranding has yet been announced.
