Florida Panthers Friday Caterwaul

After an intense first day of practice, the Florida Panthers return to the ice this morning for two more sessions at Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs. The practices are free and open to the public, but seating is limited.

Prospect defenseman Ludvig Jansson logged 9:47 of ice time in Lulea HF’s 2-1 loss to Orebro in action from the Swedish Hockey League. The 19-year-old played on the third pairing with Pontus Sjalin and posted an even rating.

Florida reserve Logan Hutsko saw second line duty in IK Oskarshamn’s 5-2 loss to the visiting Vaxjo Lakers. Hutsko played 18:05, finished with an even rating and registered one shot on goal

Reserve Yegor Korshkov registered three shots on goal, two hits and a block in Amur Khabarovsk’s 2-1 overtime loss to Dynamo Moscow in action from the KHL. Korshkov played 18:44 and finished the game with a minus-one rating.

The NHL unanimously approved the sale of the Ottawa Senators to a group led by Michael Andlauer. Andlauer will assume control of the Senators’ operations effective immediately.

Speaking of the Senators, they signed undrafted defenseman Djibril TourĂ©, who attended the Panthers’ 2023 development camp, to an entry-level contract. TourĂ© produced five goals and 16 points in 57 games with the OHL’s Sudbury Wolves last season.

The Calgary Flames inked forward Parker Bell to an entry-level contract. Bell, who was selected in the fifth round (155th overall) of the 2022 draft, amassed 64 points in 55 games with the WHL’s Tri-City Americans in 2022-23.

The Winnipeg Jets signed forward Colby Barlow, the 18th overall pick in the 2023 draft, to an entry-level contract. Barlow racked up 46 goals and 33 assists for the Owen Sound Attack during his second season in the OHL.
