Monday Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The Florida Panthers will hold its first practice of training camp this morning at 10 a.m. at the BB&T Center in Sunrise.

The schedule for this week is as follows:

Monday, Jan. 4

Team Blue practice – 10 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Team Red practice – 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 5

Team Red practice – 10 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Team Blue practice – 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 6

Both groups skate – 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

Both groups scrimmage – 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Thursday, Jan. 7

Scrimmage – 7 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 8

OFF

Saturday, Jan. 9

Team Blue practice – 10 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.

Team Red practice – 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.

The semifinals at the World Junior Championship will take place tonight in Edmonton.

Devon Levi will get the start in goal as host Canada takes on Russia in the first game on the card. Florida’s seventh-rounder in 2020 is 5-0 with a 0.64 GAA, .967 save percentage and two shutouts.

The other three Panthers prospects left in the tournament will be in action in the late game that will see Spencer Knight in goal for the United States while Anton Lundell and Kasper Puutio will suit up for Finland.

Knight has rebounded from a poor opening game against the Russians and is now 3-1 with a 1.70 GAA, .924 save percentage and two shutouts.

Lundell leads Finland with four goals and is tied for the most points on team (7) with defenseman Topi Niemela.

Puutio has appeared in all five games and has registered 11 shots on goal and a -2 rating.
