LBC’s 2019 Florida Panthers & NHL UFA Day Open Thread

Welcome to all as we embark on yet another summer of free agent signings. Unlike last year, where the Florida Panthers roster looked pretty set, general manager Dale Tallon is definitely on the hunt for a new starting goalie (penciling in Sergei Bobrovksy) and perhaps a veteran backup.

According to CapFriendly, the Panthers have just over $25 million in cap space and are expected to be very aggressive.

In addition to Bobrovsky, rumor has it the Cats will ink forward Brett Connolly, last seen in a Washington Capitals uniform, and should also be looking for help on the blue line. But this isn’t an Adele song, so none of this is official until noon, when pen can be put to paper.

If you’ve been with us for any of our past nine “Free Agent Frenzy” threads you’ll be familiar with the surroundings: post up your own thoughts, reactions, any rumors that catch your eye (please source them), favorite breakfast or lunch spot, what have you. Whether it’s about the NHL in general or the Panthers in particular, feel free to share it.

The fireworks begin at 12 ET, so keep your eyes glued to the interweb so you don’t miss anything.
