Panthers Roster Cut to 28, Repik and Reinprecht on Waivers

Three more players were cut and one put on the injured reserve list to bring the Cats’ pre-season roster to 28. With these cuts, the team inches closer to the opening night 22 man roster they’ll be carrying into the season. Scott Clemmensen was placed on injured reserve after undergoing a procedure on his knee this morning. He will miss up to 8 weeks while recovering. In the meantime, Jacob Markstrom and Tyler Plante will compete for the second Panthers goalie spot to start the season.

Defenseman Colby Robak was sent to the San Antonio Rampage a day after General Manager Dale Tallon praised his work in camp. Forwards Steven Reinprecht and Michal Repik were both placed on waivers in advance of being assigned to the Rampage. Reinprecht was waived in December of last year and eventually loaned to Adler Mannheim in Germany, while Repik had a stronger showing in camp than usual, but not as strong as Evgeny Dadonov or Jack Skille, who has started to show some offensive prowess as well as defensive ability.

The Panthers have 6 more cuts to make before arriving at the opening night roster: 4 forwards, 1 defenseman, 1 goalie. Expect to see a lot of bubble players in the next two games, including the two prospect goaltenders. The current camp roster:Forwards
