Florida Panthers prospect Kasper Puutio scored a goal and assisted on another in Pelicans 8-3 drubbing of Dragons de Rouen in action from the 2023-24 IIHF Champions Hockey League. Puutio drew the secondary assist on Patrik Carlsson’s goal which put Pelicans up 2-1 early in the first period and later notched his club’s final marker 2:02 into the third. The 21-year-old defenseman finished with game with four shots on goal, a game-high four blocks and a plus-two rating while playing 16:20.
Aleski Heponimei collected an assist in EHC Biel-Bienne’s 6-1 home ice win over HC TWK Innsbruck in a Champions Hockey League match. Heponiemi set up Tino Kessler’s tally late in the second period to make the score 5-0. He finished the game with one shot on goal, a plus-one rating and won eight of 14 faceoffs in 17:52 TOI.
Yegor Korshkov set up the game-winning goal in Amur Khabarovsk’s 4-2 victory over HC Vityaz in the season-opener for both KHL clubs. Korshkov registered a shot on goal, a hit, and finished with a plus-two rating while logging 16:06 of ice time.
