Thursday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

After taking Wednesday off, the Florida Panthers will hold an 11 a.m. practice at Panthers’ IceDen as they prepare for the second meeting of three with the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night.

The Springfield Thunderbirds (0-4) will also be in action on Friday, hosting the Providence Bruins at MassMutual Center. On Saturday, the T-Birds will visit the Syracuse Crunch before returning home to face the Belleville Senators Sunday afternoon to cap off a busy weekend.

Last night, Florida’s competition in the Atlantic Division went 1-2, the best possible result. The Toronto Maple Leafs disposed of the Detroit Red Wings by a 6-3 count and the Los Angeles Kings beat old friend Al Montoya and the Montreal Canadiens 5-1, thanks in large part to a hat trick from Adrian Kempe.
