The Pittsburgh Penguins signed restricted free agent defenseman Brian Dumoulin to a six-year, $24.6 million deal on Monday. The two sides were set for an arbitration hearing later in the day. Dumoulin totaled 15 points and an even-rating in 70 games for the Stanley Cup champs this past season.
Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck and Winnipeg Jets avoided salary arbitration with a one-year, $2.25 million contract. Hellebuyck posted a 26-19-4 record last season with a 2.89 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.
The Nashville Predators came to terms with forward Austin Watson on three-year deal worth $3.3 million, avoiding arbitration. Watson produced 17 points (5G/12A) in 77 regular season games and added four goals and five assists during the postseason.
Defenseman Johnny Oduya signed a one-year contract with the Ottawa Senators worth $1 million. The veteran journeyman spent last season with the Dallas Stars and Chicago Blackhawks.
The New York Islanders have signed defenseman Adam Pelech to a four-year contract worth $1.6 million per season. The 22-year-old restricted free agent posted three goals and seven assists in 44 games for the Islanders last season.
Reid Boucher and the Vancouver Canucks avoided salary arbitration with a new one-year deal that pays the 23-year-old forward $687,500. Boucher and the club had their arbitration hearing scheduled for August 1.
The Arizona Coyotes re-signed goaltending prospect Marek Langhamer to one-year, two-way contract. Langhamer went 8-11-0 with a 3.36 goals against average and a .913 save percentage in 25 games with the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners.
