The Florida Panthers were rumored to be in the running, but it is was the Carolina Hurricanes that landed Quinnipiac defenseman, Chase Priskie. The 23-year-old Priskie was a Hobey Baker finalist last season and is from Pembroke Pines. (Canes Country)

Unrestricted free agent Valeri Nichushkin has signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Colorado Avalanche. Nichushkin produced no goals and ten assists in 57 games for the Dallas Stars last season. (Mile High Hockey)

The New York Islanders kept restricted free agent Josh Ho-Sang in the fold, inking the polarizing forward to a one-year, two-way contract. The Islanders also signed forward Michael Dal Colle to a new two-year deal worth $1.4 million. (Lighthouse Hockey)
