The Florida Panthers (46-20-5) will be looking to strengthen its tenuous hold on first place in the Atlantic Division when they host the Boston Bruins (41-16-15) tonight at Amerant Bank Arena. Despite missing some key players over weekend, the Panthers were able to capture a point against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Saturday before snapping a four-game losing streak with a gritty 4-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Sunday. Sam Reinhart scored twice and added an assist against the Flyers to reach 50 goals for the first time and established a new career high in points with 83.
The Bruins come into this key matchup having dropped its last two outings. On Thursday, they were beaten 5-2 on home ice by the New York Rangers after Adam Fox snapped a 2-2 early in the third period and the Broadway Blueshirts added a pair of empty-netters. Following that, Boston opened a six-game road trip with a tough 3-2 loss to the Flyers. The Bruins have won the first two games of the season series which concludes on April 6, at TD Garden. David Pastrnak leads the club with 44 goals, 55 assists and 99 points.
