Scouting Report (courtesy of Pickswise)

The Florida Panthers have the highest points percentage in the NHL. Yes, that is correct. The Panthers are one of the top teams this season, winning four of their last five games. On Wednesday they play the Dallas Stars for the second of three in a row at home. The Panthers are 6-2-1 at home and have the fifth highest goals for per game average at 3.41. In short, the Panthers love to score goals, lots of them. Jonathan Huberdeau is showing why he is an elite player in the NHL leading the Panthers in scoring and recording eight points in his last five games. Aleksander Barkov is producing as a top center on the team with six points in his last five games which makes for two balanced lines that can be tough for any team to handle. Florida is always pushing the puck up the ice and they spend the majority of the game in the offensive zone. They currently sit second in shots per game at 33.5 and will look to exploit a Stars team that they dominated on Monday night, winning 3-1.

Dallas has had an unfortunate season as they have had two stops in their schedule because of Covid and have lost six games in a row heading into Wednesday night against Florida. It has been tough for their star players to get into any sort of rhythm and it is showing on the scoresheet. Jamie Benn has no goals in his last five games and John Klingberg has no goals in his last nine games. Losing eight of their last nine has the Stars on a downward spiral that will continue again against this high powered Panthers team.
