NHL.com Preview:

P.K. Subban will not play against Florida nor against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday in the second game of a back-to-back. Subban has yet to practice since injuring his neck last Thursday. He is day-to-day, as is forward Lars Eller (flu), who practiced Monday but will not be ready to return Tuesday. They are among 11 players who were out of the lineup because of injury or illness in Montreal’s 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. The Canadiens are excited about the opportunity to play against Jagr. “He’s a legend in the league,” rookie Mike McCarron told the Montreal Gazette. “It will be my first time … it will be exciting.” (More)

With a chance to regain first place in the Atlantic, Florida allowed three unanswered goals in the final 7:10 to end up with a 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Monday. After owning an 18-11 shot advantage while dominating the first two periods, the Panthers were outshot 17-7 in the pivotal third. “We let them skate in the third period,” coach Gerard Gallant said. “We backed off too much. They took it to us. The first goal killed us. You lose a game like that (and) you’re going to be (upset).” (More)
