Weekend Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

Let’s take a little break from our Florida Panthers T25U25 countdown and take a look at this week’s NHL signings.

The Calgary Flames signed restricted free agent defenseman Noah Hanifin to a six-year contract worth $29.7 million. Calagary acquired Hanifin from the Carolina Hurricanes, along with  Elias Lindholm in exchange for Dougie Hamilton, Micheal Ferland, and prospect Adam Fox. (Matchsticks and Gasoline)

The Los Angeles Kings inked center Drake Rymsha to an entry-level contract. Rymsha put up 73 points in 68 games for the OHL’s Sarnia Sting last season. (Sarnia Observer)

Kristian Vesalainen signed an entry-level contract with the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets selected the right winger in first round (24th overall) of the 2017 Entry Draft. (Arctic Ice Hockey)

The Jets also came to terms on a one-year, two-way deal with restricted free agent J.C. Lipon. Lipon scored 17 goals and added 21 assists for the Manitoba Moose in 2017-18. (Arctic Ice Hockey)

Former KHLer Sergei Shumakov signed a one-year entry-level contract with the Washington Capitals. The 25-year-old notched 17 goals and 40 points in 47 games with CSKA Moscow last season. (Washington Post)
