Panthers will open the 2021-22 season hosting the Penguins on October 14

The NHL’s 2021-22 regular season will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 12 with an exciting doubleheader, highlighted by the Tampa Bay Lightning raising their third Stanley Cup championship banner before facing the Pittsburgh Penguins at Amalie Arena.

The second game on the opening night will feature the NHL’s newest franchise, the Seattle Kraken, who will play their first regular-season game against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena. The Kraken will play their first home game on Saturday, October 23 when they play host to the Vancouver Canucks at Climate Pledge Arena.

Closer to home, the Florida Panthers will open the regular season at BB&T Center hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday, October14 and the New York Islanders on Saturday, October 16.

Florida will host the Kraken for the first time over Thanksgiving Weekend on November 27. The Panthers will make their first trip to Seattle on January 23, 2022.

25 games of the home slate will take place on Thursday and Saturday with 14 Thursday matchups and 11 Saturday games

The Panther will close the season with a three-game road with the finale taking place in Montreal on April 29
