Game Day: Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers, 9pm

These young ladies are not yet Craig Anderson fans. But they will be.

The Cats, and more honestly Stephen Weiss and Craig Anderson, come into this one having beaten the Ottawa Senators with scant seconds left in overtime on Monday. And on that subject: who wasn’t yelling at the screen (remember when games were televised) with hands together, praying it doesn’t go to a skills competition? Who would you rather have in your initial SO lineup: Alfie, Spezza, and Heater, or The Panther Alternative…whatever that might be on a given night – but it ain’t consisting of names like Booth, Horton, or Stillman.

Good stuff, and my arms remain stung from banging on the ottoman – this time, with excitement – in front of my television after the winner. With nine seconds remaining. Money.

At least I won’t have to concern myself with televisions or visuals going into tonight’s match in Edmonton. Ahhh, the pleasures of living in a “non-traditional market”.

The Box believes Edmonton deserves recognition for releasing the finest “third jerseys” in the league:

Whoops. My bad. Meant to go here:

No further roster moves were made last night, so expect no changes in the lineup for the Panthers. Which means RepikMania! Edmonton leads the all-time series, 8-7-3; the Oil has had a four-day layoff. Florida played Monday, defeating Ottawa with a late Stephen Weiss goal in a 4-3 overtime victory on the road. The Cats have not won in Edmonton since January 5th, nineteen-freaking-ninety-six.

Tomas Vokoun gets the nod tomorrow in Calgary. As for Vancouver on Sunday? Meh. When have Panther fans ever cared about the ‘Nucks?
