Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that former New York Islanders head coach Jack Capuano has been named associate coach on Bob Boughner’s staff.

The 50-year-old Capuano spent over a decade in the Islanders organization serving as head coach (2010-17) and assistant coach (2005-06). Prior to joining the Islanders, Capuano served as head coach of the Islanders’ AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (2007-10) and served as assistant coach (2006-07).

As head coach of the Islanders, Capuano owned a 227-192-64 record and made three playoff appearances including the club’s 2013 postseason berth, their first since 2007. Capuano was behind the bench when the Islanders eliminated the Panthers in the opening round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
