Florida Panthers sign Justin Sourdif to entry-level contract

The Florida Panthers announced that the club has signed forward Justin Sourdif to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Sourdif was selected by the Panthers in the third round (87th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, He produced a total of 60 goals and 134 points in 147 career WHL games with the Vancouver Giants.

The 5-foot-11, 181-pound native of Richmond, British Columbia put up 34 points (11G/23A) in just 22 games during the truncated 2020-21 season, leading the Giants in assists and points and ranking tied for third-most points in the league.

On the international stage, Sourdif earned a Silver Medal with Canada at the 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, posting five points (1G/4A) over five tournament games.

He assisted on two goals for the Panthers during the Prospects Tournament Showcase in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Training Camp

Team Blue defeated Team Red 3-2 in a shootout in yesterday’s intrasquad scrimmage at FLA Live Arena. Maxim Mamin scored both of Team Blue’s goals while Carter Verhaeghe and Ryan Lombard tallied for Team Red. Mamin and Serron Noel scored in the shootout to give Blue the victory.  Assists that were noted were Sam Reinhart setting up the Verhaeghe goal, Juho Lammikko got one on Lombard’s, and Zac Dalpe and Kevin Connauton got the helpers on Mamin’s second goal. Sergei Bobrovsky, Spencer Knight, Sam Montembeault and Chirstopher Gibson each gave up a goal in the 50-minute affair. Gibson was not beaten in the shootout.
