Kuba Notches Third Point In Vitkovice Win

Florida Panthers defenseman Filip Kuba picked up his third assist of the season and finished with an even rating during Vitokice Steel’s 4-2 win over PSG Zlin in Tuesday action from the Czech Extraliga. Kuba was part of a swarming defensive effort that held Zlin to just 18 shots on goal.

Ondrej Vesely scored at 8:04 of the first period to stake visiting Zlin to a 1-0 lead. Rudolf Huna and Roman Szturc would reply before the frame ended to put Vitkovice ahead 2-1.

In the second period, Tomas Linhart struck for Zlin with assists going to Martin Hamrlik and Petr Leska to even the game at two.

Steel’s Rudolf Huna would get his second goal at 13:08 of the third period and Kuba would set up Jiri Burger for an empty net tally with nine seconds remaining to round out the scoring.

Filip Sindelar turned aside 16 shots to post the win for Vitkovice while Jakub Sedlacek took the loss for Zlin.
