Monday Caterwaul: Stars draw first blood with 1-0 win over Golden Knights

Anton Khudobin made 25 saves for the first Stanley Cup Playoff shutout of his career, and the Dallas Stars defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 1-0 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

John Klingberg scored the game’s only goal, with the assists going to Jamie Benn and Radek Faksa, 2:36 into the first period for Dallas.

Marc-Andre Fleury was the starting goalie for the Vegas and finished with 24 saves, allowing Klingberg’s goal on the very first shot he faced.

The Golden Knights, who were rolling a week ago, have lost three of its last four games and now been blanked in two of the last three.
