Panthers re-sign D Erik Gudbranson to a one-year deal
Guds is back in the fold for the 2016-17 season
The Florida Panthers have re-signed pending restricted free agent defenseman Erik Gudbranson to a one-year deal. The extension eliminated the potential of the two sides going to arbitration this summer. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed, but our friends at general fanager have it in the books at $3.5 million.

The 24-year-old played in 64 games this past season, posting totals of 2 goals, 7 assists, a +3 rating and 49 PIM. Gudbranson suited up for all 6 games in the Panthers opening-round playoff loss to the New York Islanders.
Florida chose Gudbranson 3rd overall in the 2010 Entry Draft. The rugged blueliner has collected 43 points (11G/32A) and 346 PIM in 309 career games.
