Report: Bradley opens up on ex-teammate Semin, Caps

From the Washington Post’s Capitals Insider, Florida free agent-signee Matt Bradley evidently had quite a candid radio interview on Wednesday, covering a variety of topics, the most fascinating of which gives plenty of artillery to those who have for years singled out Alexander Semin as a floater who “just doesn’t care”. Yowza.

The 33 year-old forward goes on to comment about Bruce Boudreau (“If you want to win, sometimes you have to sit some of those [highly paid, underachieving] guys down and maybe try to send a message”), Alex Ovechkin (“I never worry about Ovi”), his former club’s failure to dent the Lightning (“I think our locker room was maybe a little bit too nonchalant”), and a few other concerns.

Carrying the respected dressing room leader tag he has long worn, his words can’t easily be dismissed, and are a refreshing break from the standard NHLer’s tired “we’ve got to play 60 minutes” refrain. It’s a shame this guy didn’t get to witness ten minutes of Rusty Olesz’s gig. Or better yet, Nathan Horton.
