Sunday Caterwaul: Stars survive trip to Vegas

Ty Dellandrea scored two goals in the third period for the Dallas Stars, who staved off elimination for a second time with a 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 5 of the Western Conference Final at T-Mobile Arena.

The series will shift back to Dallas on Monday for Game 6 (8 p.m. – ESPN).

Jason Robertson and Luke Glendening also lit lamp, and Thomas Harley had two assists for Dallas. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 27 saves.

Ivan Barbashev and Chandler Stephenson scored, and former Florida Panther Jonathan Marchessault had two assists for the Golden Knights. Adin Hill finished with 30 saves.

The results means the Stanley Cup Final will not start until Saturday, giving the Panthers plenty of additional rest,

There’s more hockey taking place across the pond in Tampere, Finland. The 2023 IIHF World Championship will conclude this morning with both games on NHL Network.
