Sunday Offseason Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

Florida Panthers prospect Justin Schutz set up a goal in EC Red Bull Salzbug’s 3-1 victory over EC GRAND Immo VSV in a Friday match from Austria’s ICE Hockey League. Schutz finished the game with three shots on goal and a +3 rating. The 20-year-old wing is up to 10 points (2G/8A) in seventeen games.

Last night in the NCAA, freshman defenseman Mike Benning registered four shots on goal, blocked two shots, and finished with an even rating as Denver skated to a 3-3 tie with Western Michigan. In the ECHL, the Greenville Swamp Rabbits were beaten 5-1 by the Florida Everblades. Matt Wedman registered a game-high six shots on goal (-1), Ben Finkelstein had five shots (-1), Greg Meireles had thee shots (even), and Karch Bachman also finished with three shots (-1). Ryan Bednard served as the backup to Los Angeles Kings prospect Jacob Ingham.
